The Queen of Hearts she made some tarts all on a winter's day;
The Knave of Hearts he stole the tarts and took them clean away.
The King of Hearts called for the tarts and scolded the Knave full sore.

Transform your housekeeping center into a royal abode complete with the Queen's tarts! These are very easy to make and can with stand hours of play! (FYI: I have altered the rhyme for classroom use. I have put "scolded" in place of "beat" so that we can act it out safely!)
Bread Dough Recipe:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup salt
- 3/4 cups warm water
I found these great heart shape cups at Target.
Step One: Make small balls out of the red dough and set in cups.
Step Two: Roll out plain dough and cut into strips. Keep the strips on the thick side for strength.
Step Three: Place strips across the top of the tarts. Press them lightly into red dough so that they stick. Bake at 300 degrees for one hour. Let dry. Optional: Pop out of cup and spray both sides with a clear acrylic sealer.
Step Four: Pop tart out of cup and squeeze a dollop of tacky glue in bottom of cup. Press tart into glue. Let dry.
Step Five: Play, play, play!

This is awesome! Can't wait to try this with my girls, thanks for posting!
