I saw that tonight too. Even though technology's a big part of our world today, I think it's very important that kids don't grow up solely on technology. It was interesting how they said teaching with technology didn't show a huge improvement over teaching without it.
I liked the story too. I thought the point about graduation rates was a little ridiculous...any good (and expensive) private school has those rates. What I love about your blog is that you are incorporating so many Waldorf ideas at a public school.
Shana - I agree, I think it is interesting that there is data confirming the fact that the use of technology did not show a huge improvement over teaching without it. I think that technology seems to reach those children who have attention issues. But would love to read about the research.
Lyn - I know you have a point - the outstanding private schools have incredible graduation rates. The data that I have always been impressed with that this piece did not bring out is how many Waldorf graduates go on to major colleges and careers. I want to relocate that information. It was very inspiring.
